The Hood has a cybernetic eye in replacement of his right eye. It can emit a hologram to resemble a normal one, and has built in communicators which allow him to communicate others, primarily the Mechanic.

The eye contained a computer system, which had an array of uses. The biggest use was to hack into the Mechanic's life support system in order to keep him under control, however it had other uses, such as to keep himself imprisoned inside Parkmoor Scrubs in order for his cell to be removed from the facility[1].

History[]

Inside Parkmoor Scrubs[]

Sometime prior to the events of Legacy, the Hood installed the eye for unknown reasons. While he was incarcerated, he used it to communicate with the Mechanic to continue his outside operations[2], and to eventually organise an escape plan[3].

The Escape[]

By the time the escape plan was put in action, the Hood had hacked into the Parkmoor Scrubs security system using it. Because being inside his cell was pivotal for extraction in the Antlion, he locked himself inside his cell to prevent being evacuated to another facility by the Global Defence Force.

After Lady Penelope and Parker pursuit the Antlion in FAB 1, the Hood attempts to force the Mechanic into becoming more competent with his defense strategy using the eye. However, it ultimately fails and the Hood ends up stunning the Mechanic and leaving him for the GDF to find.[1]

Hunting the Mechanic[]

The Hood realises that the Mechanic is attempting to create his former Sentinel project, and stays undercover in the GDF to track him down.

After a confrontation at Grand Sequoia Dam, the Mechanic manages to obtain batteries powerful enough to operate Sentinel. In a last ditch effort to prevent this, the Hood uses his eye to hack into one of the Mechanic's mechas and it turn it against its creator, forcing the Mechanic to ditch the batteries in order to escape alive.[4]

After the Sentinel is activated, the Hood realises he is in danger as the Mechanic begins using it on him, so the Mechanic can free himself from the Hood's mind control.[5]

Chaos Era[]

After the Mechanic was imprisoned, the Hood found himself unable to have any control over the Mechanic whatsoever. After he obtained copies of GDF files, he discovered that the Mechanic was in a space prison, which is beyond the range the eye has.[6]

However, when the Hood discovered that Brains had hacked Digi-MAX into his computer system, he tried to wipe the Mechanic clear of his memory. However, thanks to Brains, Digi-MAX destroyed the computer system, which gave the Hood quite a painful experience as his cybernetic eye was totally disabled, thus removing his control over the Mechanic.[7]

After that, the Hood had no control of the Mechanic at all. However, once the Hood had stowed himself away on the Zero-XL, the Hood later discovered Brains on board alone much to his disappointment. The Hood told Brains that he could make use of him if the Mechanic didn't go back to his side, threatening Brains with his cybernetic eye. [8]

Trivia[]

  • The cybernetic eye is Thunderbirds Are Go!'s answer to the original Hood's psychic powers.
