Parting[]

Kyrano-blue-belt-GOTAM

New Kyrano marionette (Give or Take a Million)

It's becoming clear that guest no. 8 has some sort of center parting going on. (It's not a bit of dark hair or anything). The number of puppets with a center parting is actually pretty small (maybe less than 2). --Sigmund 2014 (talk) 22:16, September 28, 2019 (UTC)

Gordon[]

Why isn't Gordon at the Swinging Star? It's possible that he is Number 18, disguised in a dark wig. --Sigmund 2014 (talk) 09:17, October 7, 2019 (UTC)

Atlanta Shore[]

I don't know much about it (as usual) but it seems Atlanta always wore a wig. I personally think 17 and 25 are both wearing wig no. 3. That doesn't mean either of them has to be an Atlanta puppet but my guess is that they are. Sigmund 2014 (talk) 16:43, 10 January 2022 (UTC)

Parker[]

I still think Parker should be in there somewhere. Number 16 is now unidentified, and he's sitting with Kyrano and Lilian, so my best guess is that this is Parker. His hair seems far too black, but I guess he's in disguise like the others. Sigmund 2014 (talk) 18:12, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

Prank[]

They're only in disguise because they wanted to prank Alan. They knew he was going to use the disguise excuse to make himself look more attractive/mature, so they all put one on too. It's actually pretty mean, but funny. Sigmund 2014 (talk) 08:49, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

I don't know about you guys, but until now, I thought the joke was that his whole family sat there secretly observing him while he struggled to keep his dream date entertained, which I always thought was incredibly mean-spirited, and not funny at all. Fact is, the whole scene revolves around Alan's decision to wear a disguise that night, and how the others saw it coming from miles away. Sigmund 2014 (talk) 11:12, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, but if people need to watch your movie 50-100 times to figure out a scene, there might be a problem with it. I think the reason most people like me don't get it is that Alan's excuse "we sometimes need to wear a disguise" sounds perfectly believable - until you actually think about it. In truth, Alan clearly didn't need to wear one, and he knows it. He's trying to pull a fast one on Lady Penelope, and she's about to prank him hard for it. It's the old "don't underestimate Penny" motif. Sigmund 2014 (talk) 09:55, 26 February 2022 (UTC)
And with that, we also get a rare clue as to the meaning of the scene where Alan tries to jump to Fab 1 and falls to Earth at the end of his dream. It's foreshadowing his "downfall" at the club later on. He keeps saying, "I can't make it!" which translates to "I can never hope to deceive Penelope". Penelope on the other hand keeps daring him to "jump" (take the risk) because she just thinks it's hilarious that little Alan would even contemplate such a thing. Sigmund 2014 (talk) 15:30, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
Likewise for the mysterious webby contraption seen at the start of the dream. It's not there for decoration, it symbolizes the deception that Alan is planning, via the Sir Walter Scott quote "Oh, what a tangled web we weave/When first we practise to deceive!". It's behind Alan, so he can't see it. He imagines his little secret is safely hidden inside. But when Penelope rolls up in FAB 1, she can see it very clearly, and she immediately knows what's going on. Sigmund 2014 (talk) 09:14, 5 July 2022 (UTC)

  • 10. Kyrano
  • 16. This is probably Parker in disguise, sharing a table with the other "servants".

Philosophers[]

I think the 4 main disguises are all famous philosophers, I guess to drive home to Alan how much smarter they are than him. Virgil is Nietzsche, Scott is Francis Bacon, Jeff looks like some Greek guy like Aristotle, and Brains could be Descartes. Sigmund 2014 (talk) 17:17, 13 July 2022 (UTC)

This of course makes you wonder who Tin-Tin is disguised as. She's a bit young to be a philosopher, that's for sure. It seems they left a clue on screen though. This may sound controversial, but I think she's disguised as Atlanta. Sigmund 2014 (talk) 13:15, 23 July 2022 (UTC)

Commander Shore[]

Atlanta is sitting with some guy but all we can see is his right hand. Nevertheless, I think it's reasonable to suppose it is her father, because he was sitting with her aboard Fireflash as well. (And other reasons) Sigmund 2014 (talk) 22:05, 26 November 2022 (UTC)

Bluray pics[]

The Waiter puppet is from Stingray but it looks as if it's been totally "rewigged" so we'd better get some Bluray Pics fast. I think I know who it is though. Sigmund 2014 (talk) 10:51, 10 December 2022 (UTC)

There is currently a Bluray rip on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOHBf8ZUpBs. Obviously there'll be a whole lot of YT compression on it so that might get in the way (the waiter's pretty small in the bg). I will admit I don't think it's Craddock as the page currently says, the hairline is different from its earlier appearance in the film and they're not exactly going to have redone it just for a 5 second shot in the background right at the end. But it does look super familiar.
