the hood and Brains[]
At the end of ""legacy"" the Hood said he knows whats coming next witch means he might know the mechanic. Also look at at the Mechanics skin colour and gadgets which makes it clear he might have some sort of relation to Brains. This is just a theory for now.

Theory[]
This is just my speculation and it has a few problems with it but ill tell you anyway. The Mechanic is Aden. Remember that little genius from Extraction? Here are my resons:
- He had crazy engineering and science skills and could make a radio from a rocket, just like the mechanic.
- He has the same colour eyes.
- He met brains over the radio, brains was very impressed by Adens talent. Brains was also impressed by the mechanics space station.
Now your probably thinking, well why does a nice boy like Aden all of a sudden turn evil? Well he seemed quite close to his dad and his best friend David. His mum may have died and his dad must mean the world to him along with David, so maybe they were killed accidently by IR. Maybe a their was a car crash Aden his dad and David were going to the movies or something, they were in the crash and Adens dad and David were trapped and Aden couldn't get them out. They insisted he go so he did. IR arrived and had to move the car to get to others. When they did they accidently may have killed Adens Dad and David. Aden who was in shock and not thinking rationally saw his dad and best friend die, and hated IR for that.
Well now thats sorted the only thing remaining is the age. When we see Aden in Extraction he is 11 years old. Only 2-5 years max could have passed this would place Aden as 16, 8-18 years to young to be the Mechanic.
We should get the transparent pics from the TB.com website.[]
We should get the Mechanics picture from Thunderbirds.com so that it is unanimous with the other Thunderbirds are Go Characters. We should also do it with Kayo, Lady P, Parker, ect.

Reason we used episode screen shots was because we can use them under the act of fair use. To use the images direct from the website that are made for it specificly is actually not part of fair use - we'd have to get permission from the TBHQ if we can use them, which is why we use something else instead. Besides we have thousands of brilliant screenshots on the site of each character in most cases - there's no excuse for not finding a reasonable quality image to use amongst them for the pages.

Same way as you insert new pictures, just swap them with a replacement image. It's easier if you do it in source which should look like this:
{ {Template:Infobox Character
|name = John Tracy (2015)
|image = John-2015.png ---> that's where you place to replacement image text.
