There was a Thunderbirds 1999 film? Kevin 'Chalky' Kaiba (talk) 07:43, April 19, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for asking, Kevin. There almost was. Back in the mid 90's, Working Title acquired the rights from PolyGram to produce a Thunderbirds movie, which was slated for release in 1999. Scripts were written, actors chosen and they were about to start filming... when the whole project was pulled. A few years later, a page one rewrite was ordered, and it eventually became the 2004 Movie.
As the 1999 Movie was never completed, the site's Policy would list the project as non-canonical. That being said, it was 100% official, and arguably deserves its own page as a unique insight into what could have been. It's something I hope to cover as soon as other more pressing matters are dealt with. Such as the unfortunate rift that has formed here over the past few days. PaulAgnew (talk) 11:38, April 19, 2015 (UTC)
Ah. I once read somewhere that James Cameron (who directed those Godawful bores Titanic and Avatar) wanted to direct the 1999 idea, but I don't know if that was actually confirmed it was him doing it. Either way, I reckon he'd do better than Jonathan Frakes.
Before you say anything Cameron's Aliens (at least, I think that was him), I'm not at ease to say, because I've never seen it. But I reckon Leonard Nimoy would have done a good job of directing a TB film - at least, before he tragically died this year (RIP).

Peter Hewitt was going to direct. Karey Kilpatrick wrote the script. Kristen Scott-Thomas was going to be Penny and it was rumoured that Pete Posthlewaite was going to be Parker. The Tech GuyTech Support Hotline 23:08, April 19, 2015 (UTC)
Hewitt could've done a good job (at least, before the 5th bloody Home Alone movie). Not so sure about the others. Fans could do the screenwriting, and I prefer Sophia Myles and Ron Cook as Penny and Parker.

I read somewhere that this guy was actually supposed to be the Hood. Any thoughts?

Seems feasible. Kevin 'Chalky' Kaiba (talk) 14:27, September 25, 2016 (UTC)
