The TX-204 is a multi-jet aircraft that serves as both a freighter and a target carrier, making it a vital asset in air force training missions. Capable of deploying unmanned gliders for target practice, the aircraft is also equipped with the latest anti-missile technology, providing advanced defensive capabilities.
Painted in military grey, the TX-204 is accented with red and white stripes along the fuselage and bears the designation "SAF" towards the front and on the tail.
The cockpit is located at the front of the aircraft, with an exit door at the back leading to a spacious cargo hold. This hold is additionally used to store unmanned gliders for training missions. At the rear, a large door opens downward, facilitating the loading and unloading of cargo as well as the deployment of targets during flight.
Twin winches controlled from the cockpit are installed within the cargo hold. These winches can be attached to gliders, allowing for precise positioning and deployment of targets at various distances.
One TX-204 was used to place Bob Meddings in the wing of Fireflash on its maiden flight, in a failed attempt to remove a bomb placed there by The Hood.
Another TX-204 made a cameo in Edge Of Impact. One also appeared in The Mighty Atom, where it was used as an evacuation aircraft for the atomic irrigation station workers to escape the nuclear explosion.
