"Space Rogue!" is a five-part Thunderbirds comic story that was originally published between issues 9 to 13 of TV21 & Joe 90.
As none of the TV21 stories were given titles on their original printing, and it has never been reprinted, this story remains 'officially' untitled. The title of "Space Rogue!" comes from the cover of issue 12, which referred to this story as such.
This is the first story in the 'rebooted' TV21 to show signs of being placed outside of the original TV Century 21 continuity and back in the one from the original television series, with the plot concerning mankind's early space exploration efforts of the solar system. Moonbase is said to be the first inhabited complex on another world, and the end of the story reveals there is a new Mars base.
Synopsis[]
Brains is on his way to Moonbase in order to watch the launch of 'Spearhead', a new experimental spacecraft designed to provide easy landings on any planet and in any type of atmosphere. Also on Moonbase is the prisoner Zax, who is undergoing a multi-year 'brainwashing' program to de-condition him of his power-maina. However, Zax decides that the launch of Spearhead is the perfect time to make his escape, and makes a break for the ship. The ship launches with Zax inside, but his frequent resort to violence breaks the craft's navigation computer, leaving the small experimental ship to fly far off into the depths of the solar system...
