Sam Denham in 2015
Sam Denham (born January 8th, 1960) is an author and documentary producer.
A Thunderbirds fan from an early age, he has worked on a number of books relating to the series such as Derek Meddings' 21st Century Visions (under his pen name Sam Mitchell) and the Haynes Thunderbirds manual (alongside artist Graham Bleathman). Denham was also a writer on Supermarionation Cross-sections.
He is the associate producer of Full Boost Vertical: The Supercar Story, a documentary of the 1960s TV series Supercar - which was produced by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson.
More recently, he has written for the fanzine Andersonic as well as the 2017 Captain Scarlet Spectrum Agents' Manual. Denham also wrote episode guides for and contributed at least one interview (which was with Mike Trim) to Thunderbirds – A Complete Guide to the Classic Series, and allowed Marcus Hearn to photograph and scan some of the rarest items from his collection for Thunderbirds: The Vault (which Hearn is the author of).
In 2017, Denham was making a documentary about the Stirling Road studios where Thunderbirds was made. Denham, John Brown, and Alan Shubrook were allowed into the now-demolished buildings that AP Films occupied in the 1960s. As of 2024, the documentary is still in production, albeit on hold.
Denham received thanks on the Thunderbirds 50th anniversary brochure for his valued contributions in the production of the book.
