Ron Ashton (January 18th, 1936 - October 24th, 2021) worked for AP Films as a special effects technician and electrician. He contributed to Thunderbirds (season 1 at least) and the 1966 feature film Thunderbirds Are Go. Ashton later worked for Gerry and Sylvia Anderson on Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967-68). Some time after this, he relocated to south-west Wales, where he lived for many years.
On 24 October 2021, Ashton passed away peacefully at a care home in Ceredigion, Wales. He was 85.
