"Pressure Point" is the third Thunderbirds story published in Countdown, presented as an untitled six part adventure between issues 8 and 13.
Synopsis[]
The Pan Oceanic Mining Expedition prepares to finally start drilling through the Earth's moho from a location right at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. However, when they break through the surface, the release of pressure is too much and their bathyscaphe - with crew onboard - becomes dislodged from their sea floor base and destroys its buoyancy tanks. With the expedition unable to send another craft to retrieve them, and the bathyscaphe resting far below Thunderbird 4's maximum operating depth, International Rescue are going to have to get creative if they want to save the workers before their air runs out.
