"Pit of Peril" is the first original comic story published in Thunderbirds The Comic. It is an adaptation of the episode of the same name.
Synopsis[]
The US Army's new experimental all-terrain vehicle - Sidewinder - is out in trial somewhere deep in a remote African jungle. The trial goes well, but as the crew makes their way to a final rendezvous point, the Sidewinder finds unsteady ground and vanishes, falling three hundred feet into an underground crater. The Sidewinder weighs 500 tonnes, and it will take weeks for the army to get the necessary heavy lifting gear - but the Sidewinder may not have weeks, as the pit is on fire, and the machine's cooling plant only has enough fuel to run for a few hours...
