"Operation Sub-Shoot!" is a six-part Thunderbirds comic story originally published between issues 29 and 34 of the TV21 & Joe 90 comic magazine.
As none of the TV21 stories were given titles on their original printing, and it has never been reprinted, this story remains 'officially' untitled. The title of "Operation Sub-Shoot!" comes from the cover of issue 34, which referred to this story as such.
Synopsis[]
Scott witnesses the atomic destruction of an island while out on patrol, and Brains pushes for the sighting to be properly investigated. The culprit, Commander Thor Nielson, has used the island to built a new submersible and wished to destroy the evidence of its construction. His goal is to investigate the Marracca Deep, located over a shipping route, and retrieve the countless deposits of treasure from ships that have sunk over the abyss. However, his descent into the depths triggers a whirlpool on the surface, which begins to pull in ships from the busy shipping route. Brains realises the two events are connected, and that stopping Nielson is the only way to stop the whirlpool before it claims more lives.
