Malcolm "Mel" Cross is a retired Gemini Award-nominated cinematographer. He was an uncredited puppet operator on Thunderbirds (season 1 at least) and worked on the 1966 feature film Thunderbirds Are Go, however Cross' role on the film is unknown. He later worked for Gerry and Sylvia Anderson on Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967-68) and Joe 90 (1968-69).
Around 1979/80, Cross was a loader on the British comedy-drama series Minder.
In or around the 1980s, he emigrated to Canada, where he worked as a cinematographer in the film industry for over 20 years; he received several nominations for Gemini Awards. His last known work within the film industry was on the TV series Republic of Doyle in the early 2010s.
Cross is now retired and lives in Toronto, Canada.
