Maria is employed as a cook, at Sanchos Restaurant - where the conditions in the kitchen leave a very great deal to be desired when it comes to food safety and proper hygiene.
One evening, restaurant owner Sanchos plays host to some special guests "out to see the sights" - the newly-arrived crew of the massive forest-clearing machine Crablogger, which is to depart the following morning on a construction job in the South American countryside. Assured by their boss (and restaurant regular) Jansen that "Sanchos cooks his beef in a very special way," the men order "the special" - a choice all involved will come to regret....
