John Taylor (February 3rd, 1921 - January 28th, 2022) was credited as "sound" on Thunderbirds season 1. Along with Charles Hollick, he formed one half of the recording studio Hollick and Taylor, which continues today under the name of "CMAT Studios".
Working with his wife Jean, John recorded or otherwise-sourced sound effects for Soundefex, a subsidiary of AP Films, which would end up being used in Thunderbirds. The couple were also involved in the dialogue recording sessions with the series' cast. Their other work for Gerry and Sylvia Anderson includes Supercar (1961-62), Fireball XL5 (1962-63), and Stingray (1964-65).
John Taylor passed away on 28 January 2022 - just 6 days shy of his 101st birthday.
