John Read (November 14th, 1920 - April 13th, 2006) was the director of photography on Thunderbirds season 1 and associate producer on season 2.
He gave invaluable help with research for 21st Century Visions, and featured in Filmed in Supermarionation in the form of archive footage originally shot for the 2004 Supercar documentary Full Boost Vertical - The Supercar Story, where he was interviewed about the making of said series.
Read was later injured in a car crash and died on 13 April 2006. He was 85. He had been battling cancer for some time before his passing.
