John F. Brown (also credited John Brown; 1939 - April 18th, 2023) was a sculptor on Thunderbirds season 1. On season 2 and the first feature film Thunderbirds Are Go, he was credited as "sculpting supervision". In particular, Brown sculpted the characters of Jeff Tracy, Virgil Tracy, the Hood, and Cliff Richard Junior.
Brown later worked for Gerry and Sylvia Anderson on Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967-68), but was sacked by Gerry Anderson in the late 1960s. Despite this, Brown later worked for the Andersons on The Investigator (1973). He continued his career in the film industry, working as a special effects technician on Jabberwocky (1977), Alien (1992), and Band of Brothers (2001) - his last known work within the industry.
He passed away on 18 April 2023. He was 83.
