Mount Fujiyama unexpectedly erupts and International Rescue are required to help evacuation efforts. Upon arrival, the rescue team discover that the volcano's anti-eruption device has been sabotaged, and something more sinister is at play.
It is revealed that every volcano in the world was fitted with an anti-eruption device in 2059.
In an unusual move for a member of a rescue organisation, Scott abandons the rescue in order to chase down a Bereznik aircraft, and by firing a missile he murders its occupants.
