Gardoni takes aim at Roger Lyon.
Gardoni was a criminal who worked for Mr. Steelman in the Lady Penelope comic Mr. Steelman, alongside Luigi.
After Roger Lyon had taken the plans for a hydromic bomb device from Creighton-Ward Mansion in order to be destroyed, a group including Gardoni tracked him down and ran him off the road, in order to kidnap him and bring him in front of Mr Steelman himself. They were too late in stopping Roger from destroying the plans, but took him to Mr Steelman anyway - driving him to a nearby harbour to board Mr Steelman's cruiser boat. They travelled to Naples in Italy, where Mr Steelman has a secret base underneath Mt Vesuvius. Unbeknown to them however, was that Roger had activated a homing tracker on his person, and therefore Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward and her new assistant Parker were hot on their trail. As Gardoni drives Luigi and Roger to Vesivius, he expresses his confidence that the base is safe, despite its volcano location and Luigi's worries, but also acknowledges he has never actually seen Mr Steelman himself.
After Penelope and Parker arrive at the base, hot on Roger's tail, Gardoni keeps Parker at gunpoint while Luigi overpowers Penelope. However, Penelope uses a canister of gas disguised as lipstick to gain the upper hand, and in the confusion Gardoni is knocked out by Roger. However, Gardoni recovers in time to shoot Roger before they can leave, grazing his shoulder. In retaliation, Penelope uses a the bomb hidden as her handbag to destroy the base and triggering an eruption of Vesuvius - surely killing Gardoni in the process.

- Although Steelman, Luigi and Gardoni all seem to perish in the destruction of the volcano base, both Steelman and Luigi show up later in other stories, meaning it is plausible that Gardoni also somehow survives.
