David Nelson Godfrey Mitton (27th February 1939 - 16th May 2008) was a Scottish-born British director, producer, writer, model maker and special effects technician. He was an uncredited special effects technician on Thunderbirds, Thunderbirds Are Go and Thunderbird 6.
He later went on to direct the first seven seasons of the original Thomas the Tank Engine series from 1984 all the way up to 2003.
