"Chain Reaction" is a Thunderbirds comic story, told over eight parts in the pages of TV21, between issues 227 and 234.
Synopsis[]
A cargo ship returning from Venus develops a fault and its crew are forced to eject the cargo bay, where it will safely burn up in the atmosphere. However, the bay is incorrectly angled and comes in too steep, meaning it will survive the re-entry into the atmosphere and come hurtling into land - directly on top of San Francisco. International Rescue urgently sends out Thunderbird 3 to redirect the freighter and they manage to land it in the ocean. The cargo bay meets a fiery end on the Manafu Atoll, and International Rescue go home with another succesful rescue. However, this is just the beginning, and the fire begins a chain reaction of volcanic eruptions through a line of dormant volcanos - heading all the way back to San Francisco...
