"Catastrophe on Peace Island" is the second story published in Redan's Thunderbirds magazine.
It was the first to take the form of a comic story, after the last issue's adventure had been in prose instead. It was also the last story to feature the involvement of artist Steve Kyte, before he left due to creative differences with Redan's editorial staff.
Synopsis[]
Two hundred world leaders have gathered on Peace Island - an artificial landmass constructed in the Atlantic Ocean, under constant state-of-the-art surveillance and monitoring. Joining them on invite from one of the ambassadors is Lady Penelope, who is keeping Jeff Tracy updated with the event. And it's just as well, as several explosions begin to rock throughout the island - someone has planted bombs around the landmass. Thunderbirds are go!

Lady Penelope's small vessel chases down the Hood
- Lady Penelope and Parker use an unidentified boat throughout the story. Roughly the same size as FAB 1 (and painted in the same pink colour), it's definitely not the car due to its pointed nose (or bow), which also makes it too big to be a yacht in her FAB or Seabird fleets. Despite its relatively small size, Parker states the vessel has no weapons, which would seemingly be an advantage to have.
