Brophy is a character from The Duchess Assignment. He is one of the crooks who try to rob the Duchess of Royston of her valuable painting.


Biography[]
Brophy the Kidnapper[]
After arriving in America, the Duchess of Royston should have been met at New York Central Airport by Wilbur Dandridge's chauffeur (Hendricks), but while checking in by phone he was hit over the head by Brophy, who then stole his uniform and posed as the chauffeur.
Brophy then drove the Duchess to a derelict house, where he ties her up in the basement. The crook engineers a gas leak and make off with the painting.
Trivia[]
- Brophy's puppet portrayed another treacherous chauffeur, Harry Malloy, in Brink of Disaster. The same puppet also appeared as Collins, in Alias Mr. Hackenbacker.
- Brophy's grey trenchcoat was also worn by Parker in The Man From MI.5.
