A Thunderbirds movie was underrated
Most movies based on television shows are underrated specially, this movie
Hi
Hello, I like thunderbirds. A lot I am in college working for a degree as a teacher. Studying can be hard but TAG distracts me from the stress. I apologise for fo my bad spelling. I have dyslexia. To help with this I have installed Grammarly but it can't pick up everything. For my posting times. Every Saturday and a couple of weird stuff throughout the week. For the Saturday stuff, of course, I have a busy life so I will update you here on delays.
Remembrance: 1929-2019
Honored to raise a glass today, Sunday, to the champion of my childhood - on what would've been his 90th birthday. Pass it on...
Cheers, Mr Anderson. Thank you, sir...

Image Compression: Part One
Hi all!
For those that missed it: this week, we moved to a brand new domain. We are no longer located at thunderbirds.wikia.com, but rather here at thunderbirds.fandom.com. This is hopefully the last step of an almost 4 year rebrand that Wikia has taken to become FANDOM. However, we are still the same old site. It's almost like what you find on packaging sometimes: "Brand new design, same old flavour".
The Thunderbirds Wiki, as you know, is a very image rich site. We find Thunderbirds and its spinoffs are a thing of visual beauty, and by telling their stories thorough text alone would be a disservice. In fact, our ratio of articles to media is very strange indeed. As of the time of writing, we have 2,707 articles and 23,539 image files. That amo…
When Everyone Went To The Moon...
(or, What Were You Doing, That Christmas Eve?)
(From Eagle Transporter Forum, December 23)
I belong to the Class of 1968 - in some ways a good year, but in so many more a truly horrible one. And then, near the end of it, came this: Apollo 8...
Apollo 7 had already led the way back up into space for us, after the terrible loss of Apollo 1 the year before. But this would be like nothing before...or, really, since...
Here's what Frank Borman, Jim Lovell and Bill Anders (all, happily, still with us!) were doing, 50 Christmas Eves ago...as my family watched and listened, from my grandparents' house...

Today: Welcome, Firestorm!
(From Eagle Transporter Forum - today, Saturday, October 27, 2018)
We've been waiting for you - and here you are, at last! :-)
Following the live feed, I watched the "minisode" again and will likely do so a few more times, to get all the different elements sorted out in my mind - a lot to take in there!
For now, though, some first impressions...
- Visually, it looks gorgeous!
- Technology galore, both old and new, and just about everywhere you look - and, better look fast, too! ;-)
- Nagisa's already taking names! *giggle* (Better watch yourself there, Sam - with two, count 'em, two iconic Andersonian names!)
- It surely must be a formidable task, to fit so much into so short an onscreen-time. Going to series - and we surely want that, yes? (Yes!) - ought to a…
This Saturday: At Long Last - Firestorm!

Thunderbirds Day 2018 Now In The Books!
(Note: from original posting on Eagle Transporter Forum, Monday October 1 PDT/local time...)
A very tired, but very happy, Boatie here. This yr's International Thunderbirds Day Marathon, over on the GA Twitch channel, officially ended a short while ago, and a number of folks are keeping the chat room busy over there...
I've had very little sleep this wkend, seeing as I was online from about 6:30 am to 10 pm on Sun and about 2:30 pm today to within the past hour (times local). Nice to know I can still do something like that, at my so-called "age" (remember, it's only a number); but I know for a fact that at some point I am gonna pay... *zzzzz*
Everyone had a great time - we got to watch all the Thunderbirds eps in HD (and they looked great)…
June 23: One Year On...
Hello again, all -
Has it really been a year, that I've been here? A whole year? Yep, it seems so - a year, since I first became a member and contributor! And, yes, it's still very nice indeed, to be here... :-)
I'm grateful to our fearless "Admins" - including Jack, Welton and Sigmund - heroes, all. "Ask us anything," you said; and I have, and you've helped make me better at this. Mind, I still manage somehow to tie myself up in knots, from time to time! But I know I can ask for help with confidence. Thank You...
Thunderbirds itself continues to fascinate and amaze. I remember the series' original run, here in my little corner of the States. With only a half-hour (less commercials), you're just so busy trying to take it all in! I don't recall ha…
An Early Birthday Gift!
Wow - was just posting a couple edits, and - *poof* - what should pop up? My second What A Lucky Edit! badge! Completely unexpected, had no idea I was that close. A great early-birthday surprise...love it :-)

Boatie's Back! (I Hope...)
Hello again, all -
It is with much relief, and joy, that I can report to you that "Little Boatie" is FINALLY back on station again! Who would've thought trying to get hooked up with another Internet service provider (having had to give up previous one) would prove to be such a hassle?
Think I'll stick with relying on the "creative" side of my brain...
Meanwhile: what'd I miss? Everyone safe and well, I hope. Got a lot of catching-up to do. Let me hear from you!
--Boatshewsd2 (talk) 19:41, May 3, 2018 (UTC)Best, always,
Oh No - We're Out of Touch with Boatie!
Hello, all -
First, apologies for the recent extended silence. Between a recent out-of-town family funeral, and losing my Internet provider and having to find another one (sending this from my mother's), it's been pretty hairy around here. And way too quiet. Coming to understand something of how John felt, in Attack of the Alligators!
I do hope to be back online very soon, so don't despair.
(Missing everyone terribly, though...:-( )
World Life Preserve
Hello all,
I was watching Man From TB5 and I couldn't help but notice Lady Penelope's charity, the World Life Preserve. Does anyone have any ideas on what this charity could support and work towards? Also I would love it if you guys could check out the disscussions page.
Thanks!
TAG Season 3 trailer
The trailer for Thunderbirds Are Go! Season 3 is finally released on its official Facebook. If you haven't watched it yet, I hope you'll have a look at it.
So, it seems some new villains are coming, and they are employed by the Hood (again). Don't throw them away this time!
"Cause as much chaos as possible"... I don't like the sound of that.
Well, I just hope that the upcoming episodes will be as exciting as the ones before.
Bye for now!
Introduction
Hi there. Thanks for visiting my blog.
I'm a fan of Thunderbirds Are Go! TV series and also the original series. Currently I'm looking forward for the 3rd Season of the new series. Quite hard to wait until spring...
Feel free to contact me!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Here's a short comic for you guys! (i may slot a final panel in if I have enough time - cutting it fine as it is this week)
AND since Dec 25th is Penny's birthday, I have a colouring page for everyone to have fun with!
and as always, have a merry Christmas and a wonderful new year!
What's In A Name?
Hello again, all!
I added four new images to the Tracy Villa page this evening (local), and would appreciate some extra assistance...
This pretty little area, just off the Villa kitchen, appears in Give Or Take A Million; in the scene with Virgil, Tin-Tin and Brains, before Virgil has to fly off to Coralville in Thunderbird 2...
Question: does this area has a proper name of its own? (I temporarily named it A Tropical Patio.) If so, I'd like to include that name on the page.
Suggestions gladly welcomed! Thanks in advance...
Thunderbirds are go fun for the 8th of Oct!

Volcano! Review
ITV has taken their time but Thunderbirds Are Go season 2 is finally back with Volcano!, written by Benjamin Townsend, directed by Karl Essex and starring Mark Gattiss as the slightly crazy Quentin Questa. Volcano! was definitely one of the more sillier episodes of the show, but did so in a way that didn't feel too jarring, like most of the sillier episodes are (I'm pointing you, Lost Kingdom, or pretty much anything else with either Francois Lemaire or Langstrom Fischler). This episode just reinforces why Benjamin Townsend is my favourite Thunderbirds Are Go writer, being able to get uber-serious and dark like Up from the Depths and create a silly yet not-out-of-place episode like this one.
The episode starts out with a brilliant reminder of how bus…
This Day, 2017 - Thunderbirds Day!
It's a sunny Saturday afternoon, out here on the Pacific, and it's also Thunderbirds Day, I hear. Time-difference noithstanding (!), I hope those of you who are able, have had the opportunity to take in some of the many special events scheduled. (And tell us about it, too, if you have! ;-) )
It's a day to celebrate, and perpetuate, the legacy of Team Tracy Island. I enjoy that aspect of participating here on TB Wiki. Been doing mostly editing of late, but today got back to posting images - some of you, I've noticed, have been very busy bees! Gotta do more of my bit to "keep up with the Joneses..."!
I've also been doing some fan-fic writing. You have to be in the right mood to do it, and there's been more writer's-block than usual recentl…
Some Volcano 101...
Hello again, all. Looking over the Tracy Island page, I noticed the terms dormant and extinct are both used in documenting the island's long-ago volcanic origins. But, which is it, really - dormant, or extinct? It's a Pacific puzzlement!
In seeking some clarity, I consulted the Volcano World page on the website of Oregon State University (http://volcano.oregonstate.edu/how-volcano-defined-being-active-dormant-or-extinct ) and found some useful, recognized definitions. Should we assume, then, that the volcano that produced what we now know as Tracy Island, hasn't erupted in the past 10,000 years - but could, again (dormant)? Or do we believe that it won't erupt, ever again (extinct)?
For myself, I'd say extinct. What do you think? Thanks! :-)

Yes, It's Me. Receiving You...
Hello, all! It's nice to be here...
I enjoy Thunderbirds Wiki very much. Becoming a contributor has given me a whole new appreciation of it!
Yes, I do remember Thunderbirds, from the first time around! What fun, rediscovering it...
My first Anderson series was Supercar. So my fan roots go back a bit...
The Man That Got Away: Captain Scarlet, which did not come to my area, back when. (Don't let that get in the way, sir, of enjoying your Golden Anniversary year! ;-) )
One of the joys of DVDs is that you're able to take the time you really couldn't, when you watched original run on TV - and you were so busy watching everything, all at once - !
My immediate goal, is to improve with each contribution here. Time and experience are sure to reveal new goals.…
Almost 2000...
My first blog post..
Almost at 2000 pages now.... I've got to say that although the wiki has come along nicely in the last couple of years, I think that in recent months it has grown in size massively. We now know what John Foley, Len Walter, Harry MacDonald, Harry Ledger, and Noel Rowland look like and got exclusive images for them - several of the many, many great things that have happened in the last four / five months.
Costume Reuse
I always knew that they had reused costumes throughout the series, but I didn't realize that some of the costumes from the earlier series may have survived. I was watching the Stingray episode "Ghost of the Sea" earlier, and came across a sixties monstrosity worn by Captain Tempest, which happened to look exactly like the robe a certain Tracy brother was wearing:
IR :International Rescue comic
Hi guys! thought I'd share a little project I've been working on, will keep it on this blog post only so you know where to find it.
I have started a web/fan comic that's a 'Hybrid' version of both classic Thunderbirds and Thunderbirds Are Go! and would like to share it with you guys. I know it may annoy alot of people who are divided into one camp or the other, but I love both versions of the tv show and thought I'd mix some of my favourite parts together in a comic format.
I know this may not appeal to everyone and my art isn't the best in the world out there for this sort of thing however it's been great fun and a brilliant challenge, I'm learning lots of new stuff as I go so hopefully all those minor niggles will smooth out over time. It's mos…
comparasions & improvements to Thunderbirds and Thunderbirds are go
Originally I was just going to write a reply back on http://thunderbirds.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Guyus24/What%27s_With_All_The_%22Thunderbirds_Are_Go%22_Hate%3F Jack's blog but figured what I'm about to write will be lengthy so I'll do a seperate blog for it instead.
Yeah there is still alot of 'dislike for Thunderbirds are go (TAG) which i feel is really undeserved floating around, and I just want to say a few words about why you should think otherwise!
Originally, Jack was comapring it to the NEW Captain Scarlet, but since I havn't seen that in a full episode yet I'm only going to mention a comparasion on a visual level... here and now. TAG is far superior and more beautiful. If anything you should be making the comparasion to Lavander Ca…
What's With All The "Thunderbirds Are Go" Hate?
With the return of Thunderbirds Are Go in just a few hours, I thought I'd have a go at trying to figure out why Gerry Anderson fans don't seem to like it that much (for the record, I like it).
I'm going to be referencing New Captain Scarlet quite a bit in this, as not only is it a reboot of a classic puppet show, but it was also produced in CGI. New Captain Scarlet was also warmly accepted by fans, and is still referred to in the GerryAndersonTV blog, unlike Thunderbirds Are Go? Why the hell is that?
A lot of the bad stuff Thunderbirds Are Go gets are like "the rescues are too fast", "the characters look too plastic" (srsly?), "Brains is Indian", "there aren't enough models", and possibly the worst few, "it's not like original Thunderbirds" or "it's n…
Discussions Are Go!
You may have noticed the new edit counter on your user profile masthead. Discussions posts? What are they? Well don't fear, I have the answer.
Discussions are a new feature introduced by Fandom (formerly Wikia, forever bless you soul). They allow you to talk about anything you like (related to Thunderbrids, obviously), categorise it and filter out the stuff you don't want to hear about. You can upvote other posts, comment and share them on social media. In fact, Discussions is like a Facebook dedicated to Thunderbirds. You can talk about your favourite episode, share some cool artwork you found, tell everyone about your crazy #TAGSeason2 theories. If it's about Thunderbirds, it belongs, and we wanna hear it!
You can find discussions by going to…
Bad pics from DVDs
I've been seeing quite a few very poor pics replacing better ones lately.... It seems they're being grabbed from DVDs.
A pic may be "hi-res", but that doesn't automatically make it great. In many cases, the colours are simply abysmal! Kindly desist.
M40 incident
During the filming of Thunderbird 6 in 1967, the M40 motorway was being built and going to have central reservations installed throughout it. Executive producer and writer Gerry Anderson and director David Lane went to take a look at the motorway. The former suggested that the Tiger Moth could be flown under one of the bridges. Joan Hughes, who served as a ferry pilot in World War Two, would only be able to go under with the aircraft if she followed a stipulation by the Board of Trade - the Tiger Moth would be able to go under the bridge but providing the aircraft's wheels were in contact with the road. Furthermore, a Department of Transport official was on-site during filming so as to ensure the stipulation was adhered to.

Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's split and divorce
Gerry and Sylvia Anderson
1960 – 1981
Gerry and Sylvia Anderson got married on November 22, 1960. While on tour to promote the feature film Thunderbirds Are Go in December 1966, their marriage was breaking up; the former thought that the latter was attempting to steal the limelight. In response, Sylvia accused Gerry of being jealous and threatened to cancel the tour. The latter responded by saying that if the papers got hold of it, disaster would ensue. Ultimately, the couple continued the tour.
Shortly after Christmas that year, Gerry and Sylvia separated. Following their reuniting in time for New Year's Eve, they went on holiday to Paris.
Despite hiding it for a while, the fact that their marriage was in trouble became apparent to a lot of peo…

Landscape
The bad news is: there's a new infobox that blows up Character images to monstrous proportions. The good news is: nobody seems to be putting it up on pages.
There's an easy fix though: just reupload a resized image of about 400 characters.
In this context, it might be worth drawing attention to the fact that Wikia's "Read more" links at the bottom of every page are in a "Landscape" orientation! But the Character pics are nearly all "Portrait"! At the moment, what we have is all these weird blurry pairs of eyes staring at you at the bottom of every character page! It just looks awful.
So, if anyone is going to resize all 400 character images, please consider making them "Landscape" as well. Thanks!
Is Alan's Sash White or Yellow ?
Before you all shout "White" I'd like to tell you about a find I made the other day, I released I had a Matchbox figure of Alan Tracy and his sash is Yellow!!. I quickly checked through the rest of my collection and yes I've got a figure with a White one too! Why would Matchbox issue two different ones ?. I then started to wonder if I was right is it white?
Well here is the evidence that it changes on screen several times..
Alan's sash and top of his boots were deafenilty WHITE.
On my tour of the Slough studio. I was informed that the lighting had to be so strong (to help with the shooting in such a small scale), that the strong lighting would bounce of white objects, distorting the colour, which would explain the differences seen above.

==Party Pooper==
Looks like Matt Zimmerman came late and left early. He doesn't appear at all in the first episode, and he obviously wasn't around for the last episode either. The result: perennial favourite Alan has exactly 2 lines in Trapped in the Sky, and only one in Give or Take a Million. What a Bummer.
Newsreel Puppets
While watching Filmed In Supermarionation for good pics of Thunderbirds cast and crew, I noticed this in an old newsreel.
So we've got (from left):
- Gen Lambert (in a nice suit, was he in the crowd in TINYC?)
- Mr. Stutt
- Unknown (hint: it's not Bill Craddock)
- Ocean Pioneer II Captain
- Joe Carter
- Dick O'Shea
- Jack (possibly)
- Looks like Victor's Gomez's sunken cheek
- Norman
- Lil?
So we've got no. 3 - looking (nearly) straight at the camera. Who is he? I can't think of anyone and didn't know where to put this.
So I put it here. Does anyone know who he is?
The Curious Case of Duplicate Guests
Each Thunderbirds episode took around a month to film from start to finish. The process was staggered, so one episode was delivered to the cutting rooms every two weeks. Because of this, duplicates of each major puppets were made so there were no interruptions. For some characters, it's possible to see the difference between the two puppets - Lady Penelope being one of these characters.
But sometimes the puppets defy this. I'm talking about guest character being in back-to-back episodes. You might be saying, "It's no big deal, they'd just be filmed at different times". Well, it's not as simple as that. I'm talking about two episodes made back-to-back that feature the same two puppets in prominent rolls: 30 Minutes After Noon and The Impostors.

A Trip To Stirling Road
Having been a sponsor for the new "Thunderbirds 1965" I was invited to a tour of the studio, just days before it was due to be demolished.
Turning into Stirling Road is was like stepping back in time, the buildings to my right was instantly recognised, "Healey Automation" from the "Secret Service". Sadly the buildings used for "Thunderbirds" filming have already been demolished, but on the far end of the road an original building was hired and used for filming.
I would personally like to thank Stephen and his team for making all this possible, giving a old man a renewed childhood, to be able to turn the clock back 50 years and create something that will be remembered for years to come is truly remarkable and unique.
The New Infobox
Hi.
I've been busy (not really) converting our poor infoboxes to the new-fangled portable layout (something to do with rendering correctly on mobile devices). I've put together a basic one for the Scott Tracy page.
As you can probably tell, the old one was on the left and the new one on the right. You'll also notice that the new infobox hugs the image too tight - cutting off the words Thunderbirds and Appearances in this particular example. It also doesn't work with the black framed passport photos (the ones with the fancy shadow that Welton does). Here's an example:
See how the white frame that the shadow need looks totally out of place? Thankfully, the black bordered photos that Sigmund uploads work. They just lack the, er, floatiness of t…

Fact: Wiperking1 (Snippy) has been uttering threats against as certain user. He was going to contact Wikia to get him banned for "plagiarism", because said user was posting images subject to copyright.
Fact: Wiperking1 is now posting extremely high quality images of copyrighted illustrations (namely: cross-sections) on the wiki. These images are infinitely superior to anything he has ever posted before.
Why is he doing this?
I think his plan is to post dozens of such images on here, and then contact the artist or his publisher, alerting them to the fact that this Wiki is violating their copyrights. In his crazy dream, the copyright holders and their lawyers will then contact Wikia and order them to remove the entire wiki from the internet.

"Plan B"
If anyone's been following talk page messages, then they'll know what's been going on between SniperKing1 ("Sniper") and WeltonArsenal, Sigmund 2014, and Guyus24 ("We", "Us"). Sniper has recently been interfering with WeltonArsenal's edits, despite the agreement in place. Although Sniper didn't agree with the agreement, as an admin he has a duty to follow it.
In his defence, he has made up a rule (something which ironically breaks rules) that rules fall back to Wikipedia, an organisation outside of Wikia, Inc., if it doesn't exist. Sniper has also removed a warning given twice, on the ground that it is "unwarranted". Even if you believe a warning is unwarranted, it is still in place. You can't remove a warning because you are a King. That p…
