The Announcer is a male character, who featured in Icarus.
The announcer was quite literally 'barking mad' as he was giving a lot of dog references during the air show, as he always attended dog shows. Annoyingly, he was a last-minute replacement for the original announcer who had being taken ill, so therefore, he had very limited knowledge about the Icarus and even the Thunderbird machines.
When Professor Kwark was in grave danger due to her supersonic jet failing to slow down, the announcer suggested that she should bail out or get a parachute, much to the annoyance and concern of International Rescue, who knew much better than him.
Lady Penelope decided to take over the announcements to calm the audience down, and she even helped the announcer to get his words right, whilst International Rescue worked together to save Professor Kwark.
The announcer was voiced by Cell Spellman, but wasn't seen on screen during the air show.
