Andy was Candy's brother. They often read about the exciting adventures of Thunderbirds together.
In a race with Candy around Riverdale back to the Magic Toy Shop, Andy was possibly helped out by the Mole, which dug a tunnel short cut for him.
Andy and Candy were well-acquainted with Lady Penelope. She and Parker once made a call in FAB 1 to the Magic Toy Shop to see them. Mrs Bearanda took lots of photographs of the meeting but was so excited that they all went wrong.
One day, while reading about the Thunderbirds with Candy, Fairy Doll suddenly appeared when Candy said that she would love to meet Mr Tracy. With a wave of her wand, she sent Andy and Candy flying away to Tracy Island on their carpet. They met Virgil, Alan, Gordon and Tin-Tin on their arrival. Jeff then took Andy and Candy on a tour of the island during which they saw Thunderbird 1 take off. Jeff also showed them a special TV screen from which they watched its landing in London. Kyrano brought Andy and Candy some lemonade when they returned to the lounge but it was soon time for them to go home. Jeff called for them to "come again" as their magic carpet flew away.
Andy appeared in the Candy and Andy crossover story The Story of the Magic Carpet, as well as the interactive features The CANDY game for a rainy day and Candy's Puzzle Picture.

- Candy and Andy originated from a joint creative venture of Dennis Hooper and Gillian Allan and headlined the Candy magazine. For the first year of its existence, puppets made by AP Films featured in the title comic strip, which consisted of captioned still photographs taken by Doug Luke instead of conventional illustrations.
